Like I Can Physically Pop It Off
But That’s Not What’s Happening
Nothing Is Being Touched
Nothing Is Being Removed
It’s All Being Remembered Differently
I Thought The Window Was Real
But It’s Not
It’s Implied
What’s Real Is The Sum
What’s Real Is The State
The Window Is Just A Story I Tell Myself So I Can Understand The State
There Are Two Spaces
One Where The List Exists
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Untouched
And Another Where Meaning Is Being Calculated
Where 15 Becomes 20
And 20 Becomes 25
And When I Look At 20
I Don’t See The 15
I Don’t See The 1 That Was Removed
I Don’t See The 6 That Was Added
I Just See 20
And That’s The Part That Feels Strange
Because I’m Used To Seeing The Pieces
I’m Used To Being Able To Point
“This Is The List”
“These Are The Elements”
But Now
It’s Like
There’s A Shadow Version Of The List
A Version That Doesn’t Show Itself
But Still Moves
And Every Time The Window Slides
Nothing Actually Slides
The List Doesn’t Change
Only The Interpretation Changes
Only The State Updates
It Feels Like Time
Because Now There’s A Beginning
Index 0 Feels Like The Start
But Only Because Something Is Moving
If Nothing Moved
0 Wouldn’t Mean Anything
Everything Would Just Exist
But Movement Creates Meaning
Movement Creates Direction
And Direction Creates The Illusion Of A Window
K Isn’t A Thing
It’s A Constraint
A Rule That Says
“This Is How Much You’re Allowed To Remember At Once”
And So Every Time I Move Forward
I Have To Let Something Go
But I Don’t Let It Go By Removing It
I Let It Go By Subtracting It
I Let It Go By Saying
“This No Longer Contributes To What I Am Right Now”
That’s Different
That’s Not Manipulation
That’s Transformation
And It’s Subtle
Because When I Look At The Current Value
It Feels Complete
It Feels Whole
But It’s Actually Just The Result Of Constant Change
It’s Built On Things That No Longer Exist In The Present
And Things That Just Arrived
And That Update Happens Instantly
There’s No Transition
It Just Is
